Hello and welcome to the Year 1 page. We have an exciting year ahead with lots of fantastic topics in science, history and geography including; Seasons in Autumn 2 and Spring 2, Castles in Autumn 1, Robin Hood in Spring 1 and the importance of recycling in Summer 2.
We can’t wait to get to know you all and we have planned some fantastic WOW days to get you really excited about your learning.

Phonics Screening Check
The phonics screening check assesses children on how well they can decode certain words. Decoding means sounding out an unfamiliar written word. To do this, children will need to be able to recognise letters and the sounds that they represent. We use the Sounds Write phonics programme to teach phonics.
