At Longmoor, we aim to provide the children with language rich opportunities to broaden their experiences and develop their abilities to communicate effectively with speech and in writing. Writing is valued as an essential skill across the school. Our writing curriculum is built upon quality texts that engage and challenge the children as they progress through school. Rainbow Grammar is used to develop children’s language choices and sentence structures as they explore and recreate an author’s voice. Children are given opportunities to write in different genres to suit selected audiences and purposes across the curriculum through the key stages.
